So this is christmas...(Back when it was 2008) [Part 1]

Where do I start? From the beginning, I guess, as all good stories do. From my last entry, it's been a good month, filled with laughter, family moments, excellent cuisine, fan-tas-tic presents and...well, it was just plain Awesome with a capital A. Of course, as all good stories go, U gotta cut it up into many parts. That just makes it all the more interesting, no? This is probably gonna be a 4 part mini-series so do stay tuned!

*Cue opening title theme song*
(So this is Christmas by the Beatles)
Dec 11th Thursday night: Dad and Mum touched down in Glasgow. Was really excited to see my parents after the longest time away from home. Couldn't meet them at the airport cuz my flatmate had graciously offered to cook for us and I had missed the previous one (It had rave reviews although I'll bet there wasn't much to compare it with).
Dec 12th: My dear Aunt Valerie came down to Glasgow to drive us down south to Dumfries.
The following days leading up to Christmas revolved around us visiting relatives or friends of my dad. Visited places which were not very far away like Edinburgh, Stranraer, New Galloway etc. There was Auntie Betty, Auntie Netty, Auntie Jean and Uncle Charlie and Sheila Smith.
24th Dec: Christmas Eve. Strangely enough, it just didn't feel "Christmasy" for some reason. Maybe it was the lack of frost to make it all white. Anyway, I have to pull my weight when I'm at my aunt's place so I was tasked with setting the table and helping serve the food although my sis was totally undermining me by changing everything I did. *Urgh* e'nuff said.
Sis doing the stuffing
The stuffing which was going to go into the turkey...wait till u see how big it was.
Mum and sis hard at work preparing the turkey.
Sitting down to dinner.

In case u don't know who are the ppl in the picture (from left to right): Sis, Uncle Robert, Dad, Mum and Grandad (88 this year and still pretty active..can't hear much though)
Starters: Mackeral and Mushroom pate on hard bread

Main course: Ham, fries, red cabbage and a peach (Didn't like the parsley sauce)
Dessert: Strawberry Pavlova
(My heart melts everytime I see this...I want more!!)
My slice. The strawberries were really sweet too!

Just couldn't resist taking another pic..this time with cream. I know, I know..I was shamefully indulging myself. Amy said I had put on weight but who can resist that?

Our Christmas tree!! Kinda sad that I wasn't as excited about Christmas like I was when I was younger but things change.
Christmas day pictures featuring my sis' birthday, Christmas lunch, along with a proper Peacock family picture coming soon in the next post.
To be continued...
