Just finished watching Letters from Iwo Jima online. It was a really good film from the perspective of the Japanese during their defense of Iwo Jima towards the end of WWII. It showed that even though soldiers perceive that they are fighting an evil enemy in the name of their country, the soldiers on the other side are similar to them in many aspects. Family values, love of their country, honour and for their fellow soldiers. Truth be told, I would never want to go to war. Singapore, being the small nation that it is, would be hard-pressed to be actively involved or survive an assualt, even with every one of the male population fighting. I remember being asked whether I would return and fight if Singapore ever went to war. Back then, my reply was "sure, why not?". None of us would ever expect war to affect us, especially in the present times. But should the time ever come, and I pray that it never does, I would not turn my back.
Now that I've done my duty and proclaimed my love and dedication to the Lion-land, looks like 2008/2009 new year in mainland europe is full-steam ahead. Oh yea, went to the gym today. Did some weights, did some running, did some standing around...u know, your basic gym work-out. Think I'll have to set up a routine soon...get some regular hours in...say bye-bye tummy!
Is it true that Barack Obama won the presidential elections? Can someone tell me?
Tired now. Sleep good. Bed calling. Me. Go pee first. Lie down. Sleep. Mmhhmm. Night!
