Ok, I was going to post the lyrics from an old boyband group song I hadn't heard from in a while but, with regards to a conversation held abt 15 mins ago, I'm just going to skip to my witty commentary. (Btw, if you want to check it out, it was going to be Last Flight Out by Plus One...very touching song, not a successful boyband though).
Anyway, what happened to all the boybands? Now forgive me if this seems something silly to be talking about but from the deluge of boybands that popped up during the 90s, it seems like none of them have survive or that new ones are thinking of forming in the 21st century. Boybands like Backstreet Boys, Westlife, A1, N'Sync, the Moffatts, Plus One, O-Town, Code Red, Boyz2men, Boyzone, Take That and New Kids on the Block (reunion came abit too late in my opinion) to name, well, quite a few of them. The songs they sung were mostly based on that simple thing that most girls wanted to feel: love. Now, most ppl reading this will know that I tend to be rather heavy on the romantic stuff but that's just me. I've never had much luck relationship-wise so these songs are my way of not being left out. Before you get the idea that this is going to be a boring boo-hoo post about how unlucky blah blah blah, think about it. While you may not like or have matured beyond these songs, the simple msg they often try to convey is the belief that love will always find a way. Different situations, different problems, different endings, same feelings.
Now, ask urself this, do you like any of their songs? Not the group, but their songs. Why? Do you feel they've captured your feelings in the words? Does the melody seem to flow through you? I get goosebumps when it happens to me sometimes. Everything just seems to click. Even if it's a sad song, you're happy because you know that it'll only last as long as the song and after that, you have so much to be happy for. Now, people (and sometimes I can't stand this) say that these songs are so emo, that I enjoy acting emo. My reply? Being emo entails being miserable at times which I'm sure everyone goes through from time to time. However, I'm happy with who I am. I think I'm a good person, I have healthy relationships with people and I have great friends. I enjoy these songs because of the belief they give me. We all need that little something that gives us hope or else why wake up in the morning? Long live the boybands! (Oopps, might be abit late with that)
(If you think I'm crazy, why?)
Realise I probably went a little off topic but then again, I dunno what I was trying to say in the first place. It's all about as clear as mud to me. Too much How I Met Your Mother for me...hahaha. Till next time, my friends.
Btw, Happy Birthday, Joanne! Glad you liked the card.
