And so the weekend has started and we're now halfway thru it. It's been an eventful 2 days with lots of activity and money spending. Note to self: must manage finances better. Can you believe I'm still waiting for my pay for April to come in? Not to mention, my pay for May will be late too. Die le...oh well, I dun regret most of the money I've spent anyway..it's always to make me or someone else happy which is the most impt thing.
Right then, Friday was over to Plaza Singapura (aka PS) for dinner with Trina with her friend, boyfriend in tow. They are an unsual couple as they seem to keep fighting throughout the meal although I can tell they have little animosity between them. Haha..juz find it funny the different ways people show love or care towards the ones they care abt. So over to Aji-Tei we went and I can't tell you how disappointed I was with the place. The menu had so little to choose from but that wasn't the worst part. Trina and I shared these 3 dishes cuz I really didn't want the set meal and stuff. Here's the breakdown:
1. Chicken Curry baked rice => $4.80
2. Salmon Shasimi (5 Pieces)=> $7.80
3. Soft Shell Crab Salad => $7.80
Total : $20.40
After GST and Service tax: $24++
Now the thing that pissed me off.....the soft shell crab salad had only 3 pieces of the crab in it and they were pathetically small pieces. I seriously stared at the plate in disbelief. I even checked under the lettuce to see if there were any under it. Was so sad was I that I even started munching on the veges that comprised the salad (see how shocked i was?). Anyway, it was a lesson but now I know nv to go back. Sakae or Sushi Tei any day. So after that debacle, the couple headed off to the bf's jamming session i think. We 2 then went to Goodwood Park Hotel(the unfortunate reference aside) for some of their wonderful durian crepe. The minute the dessert hit the table, the forks were out in full force and it was devoured in under 5 mins...no kidding. Ya, it was shared by two but that's still quite fast considering it's quite alot. Of course, one is never enough so we ordered a second. This time, we managed to cam-whore with it awhile before devouring it again. This one I definitely recommend for any durian lovers be it the puffs, cakes or the crepe....simply lovely. Well worth the occasional indulgence.
